Green Game, CVC, and Main Library Renovation
This Saturday's football game against Duke is not only Homecomings 2021, it is also the Green Game event organized by UVA Sustainability in partnership with UVA Athletics and UVA Dine. The goal during each "Green Game" is zero-waste, which is when 90% of the waste (by weight) is diverted from the landfill to either recycling or composting. Big shout-out to all the Green Game volunteers who will help fans get things in the right bins for recycling and composting. Thanks for everything you do to promote sustainability across Grounds!
The annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is officially underway! Since the inception of this workplace giving campaign, UVA has led all state agencies in supporting the CVC thanks to the generosity and commitment of our amazing employees. The CVC serves as a critical source of funding for community nonprofits, and these funds have never been more needed. Read more in UVAToday.
How to give:
- Visit cvc.virginia.edu.
- Designate any amount to one or more of more than participating 50 nonprofits in Charlottesville, or select from the 900 total participating nonprofits across the Commonwealth.
- Employees may choose to give via payroll deduction or credit card.
Thanks for supporting these important organizations!
If you've been anywhere near central Grounds, you're aware of the major renovation underway at the University's main library. The big red crane is in place and there's a lot going on at the site. Here's a neat behind-the-scenes look at the project with Kit Meyer and Henry Hull from Facilities Management and Jeff Hill from the University Library's communications team. It's like taking a hard hat tour with the experts without getting dusty! Read more about the project here (Library site) and here (FM site with live webcam link) and follow along on Instagram at uvamainlibraryrenewal.
