Holiday Message from J.J. Davis to all EVP-COO Area Employees
The close of the calendar year offers a chance to look back and reflect and to look forward with excitement for what is yet to come. I have had the honor and privilege of working with you all since November and you have made me feel so welcome at UVA. I especially want to thank Pat Hogan, who has been extremely generous with his time and supportive of me personally throughout my transition. I feel so lucky to inherit the talented team that he built over the last six years and I appreciate all that you do and the energy that you bring to your complex and critical roles.
Thank you for your great work in 2018, from transforming major parts of our organization and developing new approaches to undertaking major planning and construction projects, sustaining a complex infrastructure, and providing excellent service. I look forward to the exciting initiatives we have ahead of us in 2019.
It’s been great getting to know many of you already and I am eager to meet more of you. We are scheduling opportunities for me to meet as many people from across our units as possible early in the new year. In the meantime, if you see me jogging on Grounds or in a hallway, please stop me and say hello.
I am especially grateful to our staff who will provide essential services throughout the holidays and those involved with the Ufirst project who are putting in long hours as we prepare to launch Workday in early January. We are all in this together and look forward to working in the new system.
My family and I send our warmest wishes to you and your family for a wonderful holiday season and terrific New Year.
