Speaking of our folks who keep UVA warm, lighted, clean, fed, and safe…these are the same employees who work through Winter Break. It was a privilege to visit with them across Grounds on Christmas Eve. Stopping in to drop off care packages and express my appreciation has become a holiday tradition that my family (pictured) and I look forward to each year!

DYK: 2025 is the Year of the Snake within the Chinese zodiac cycle, combined with the element of Wood. In Chinese culture, the combination of Wood and Snake suggests growth, adaptability, and flexibility. They encourage strategic planning, creative problem-solving, and a special focus on personal and professional growth. We are encouraged to embrace change and approach life this year as the Snake would…with wisdom, awareness, transformation, and compassion.

I am truly inspired by this cultural and spiritual theme for 2025. As we embark on this new chapter, let’s continue to support one another and embrace challenges as opportunities that will enable us to plan, innovate, and grow.
